Welcome to the Savline Dark Web!

This is an out-of-character post by the community leadership to explain the Savline Dark Web, how it works, and what we will do to facilitate its usage.

What is the Savline Dark Web?
The Savline Dark Web is based on the real dark web, a collection of online illegal marketplaces and a digital hub for criminal activity. This site can facilitate scams (the only way a financial scam is acceptable per server rules — buyers and vendors must be careful about who they trust and how they undertake online illegal activity on this marketplace) as well as legitimate deals, criminal syndicates and their operations, other individual vendors, and law enforcement sting operations.

Using the Savline Dark Web
When registering on the Savline Dark Web, you want to be smart about concealing your identity. So, you're not going to want to use your character's name as that is a sure-fire way of compromising yourself if not getting immediately busted. You can if you wish, but you'd be an idiot looking for a prison sentence if you do. An example of a username you may want to use as a general customer is #IES932FRIS# or other username that appears encrypted, as if you're using a VPN or something. For vendors/dealers, codenames such as DarkShadow, MethKing, MunitionsDon or whatever else might be another idea.

Can I have multiple forum accounts, for both vendor and dealer purposes?
Yes. With each, you'll still go through the same verification procedure - declaring your identity to forum staff.

What parts of this site are in-character and/or out-of-character?
This is an in-character site - all boards, topics, replies and forum PMs are in-character and can therefore be used as admissible evidence by authorities. Declaration of your out-of-character and in-character identities to forum staff to obtain posting and messaging permissions are out-of-character and cannot be used in any roleplay context.

What about users such as yourself (HellFury) using your OOC names? We know who you are?
Those of us who are using OOC names such as myself have forum staff ranks to ensure that no rules are broken and that the site is moderated properly. These accounts will not be used for any roleplay purposes. We may have additional roleplay accounts using similar names as those above (i.e. #IES932FRIS#) if we're engaging in roleplay on this site, same as any other player.

Why can't we post, reply or send personal messages upon registration?
This is a security measure. To post or reply, you need to request addition to the Dark Web User membergroup. To do so, you must contact a forum staff member, via Discord or via forum PMs, declaring your OOC and IC name(s). Once reviewed, you'll be given permission to post/reply and send personal messages.

Declaring our OOC or IC identities to use this roleplay dark web site?
You are only required to declare your identity to the forum staff when requesting permission to make posts - this is entirely OOC. None of us can use your OOC information declaration in a roleplay manner. We can only use information we obtain via roleplay means. That can include any other in-character information on this site, such as obtaining your identity via roleplay boards/topics should you inadvertently reveal information regarding who you are, statements by informants, dark web dealings, etc.

Is viewing and/or using the Savline Dark Web a roleplay crime?
Merely viewing the dark web is not a crime.

Any purchases, dealings, marketing, possession, distribution or facilitation of the transfer of illegal goods or services is a roleplay crime, and can see you indicted on federal charges.

However, even viewing roleplay material of rape, exploitation, trafficking, blackmail, and other material of such nature is illegal and can see you indicted on federal charges as an accessory.

Setting up a Savline Dark Web marketplace:
To set up a marketplace, PM a forum staff member to provide you with a board - describe your marketplace, the service or commodity you'll be providing (drugs, guns, etc). When setting up a marketplace, you'll be provided with a board and moderation over that specific board. That board's title will be a random assortment of characters with a .onion ending, similar to real dark web URLs. Your board description will outline what your marketplace is, in accordance with the description you've provided. Within your board, you can create topics as necessary to outline what your marketplace is, what it sells, and payments you accept - whether physical cash, wire transfers, etc, and sticky and/or lock topics as you see fit.

Making purchases or deals - how do I do this? In the boards/topics, forum PMs?
Obviously unless you're a complete idiot, you're going to use PMs to ensure privacy in your deals. Remember that this is an in-character site, and all boards, topics, replies and forum PMs are all in-character and can therefore be used as admissible evidence by authorities.

Can I get busted?
Obviously. Just like in real life, in the same way criminals use the dark web, it is also surveilled by law enforcement agencies such as the FBI. This is no exemption. Buyers and dealers need to be careful. Law enforcement may be conducting sting operations. With a warrant, law enforcement may be able to take you into custody on criminal charges and shut down your marketplace. Federal authorities may also be running fake marketplaces as a trap or continuing to run legitimate marketplaces that have been seized for a period of time to continue to trap criminals.
